How Commission Works

You only pay when you get paid

Your membership price is the only fixed cost. Commission is a small percentage taken from the earnings of projects you actually complete — and it shrinks on every higher tier.

Charged on completed work only

Commission applies solely to the value of projects you finish and get approved. Bidding, browsing and posting are always free — you never pay a fee for work you didn't win.

Lower rate as you grow

Free members pay 10%. Upgrade and the rate drops to 8% on Basic, 7% on Pro and just 6% on Plus — so busy freelancers keep more of every rupee they earn.

No escrow or withdrawal fees

Milestone escrow protects both sides at no extra cost. Depositing, releasing and withdrawing to bank, UPI or PayPal are all free — only the plan commission applies.

Example: On a ₹50,000 project, a Free member pays ₹5,000 commission (10%), while a Plus member pays just ₹3,000 (6%) — a ₹2,000 saving on a single project.

How does billing work — monthly or yearly?

All paid plans (Basic, Pro and Plus) are billed monthly in Indian Rupees. There are no setup fees or hidden charges — you pay the plan price shown and nothing more. You can start on the Free plan with no credit card and upgrade whenever you're ready to bid on more projects.

How is commission charged, and can I lower it?

Commission is a percentage deducted only from the earnings on projects you actually complete — never a flat monthly fee. Free members pay 10%, and the rate drops as you upgrade: 8% on Basic, 7% on Pro and just 6% on Plus. The more you grow, the less you pay, so a busy freelancer often earns back the plan price many times over.

Are there any escrow or withdrawal fees?

No. Using milestone-based escrow to protect your payments is completely free on every plan. Depositing funds into escrow, releasing them, and withdrawing your earnings to a bank account, UPI or PayPal carry no LanceGuru fee — only the standard commission on completed work applies.

Can I cancel or downgrade my plan anytime?

Yes. You can cancel or switch plans at any time from your account settings with no lock-in contracts and no cancellation penalty. If you cancel a paid plan you keep its benefits until the end of your current billing cycle, after which your account moves to the Free plan automatically.

What happens to unused bids at the end of the month?

Each plan gives you a monthly bid allowance — 10 on Free, 25 on Basic, 50 on Pro and 100 on Plus. Bids reset at the start of each billing cycle and do not roll over, so it's worth choosing a plan that matches how actively you bid. You can upgrade mid-cycle at any time to unlock more bids instantly.
