New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon on Monday reacted to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East and assured all possible assistance to the Kiwis stranded in the region. According to the local media, more than 3,000 New Zealanders were stranded in the Middle East amid conflict. In his statement, Luxon urged the citizens to get back via the commercial flights.
In a video statement, Luxon said, “The conflict in the middle east is concerning for many New Zealanders. I wanted to update you on what government is doing about it. Obviously our first priority is making sure that Kiwis are safe and we know that the New Zealanders will be feeling anxious and uncertain. So, where it is safe and possible to do so, we encourage New Zealanders to take commercial flights recommencing from some cities. We also have deployed RNZAF Hercules aircraft into the region in readiness to assist."
