All Moscow airports were shut down as a precaution on Sunday amid a drone attack targeting the Russian capital, according to Russian state broadcaster RT.
Russia’s aviation regulator Rosaviatsia later said airports in the city had imposed flight restrictions for security reasons as air defence systems were activated. At least seven drones were shot down while heading toward Moscow, Interfax reported, citing Mayor Sergei Sobyanin. There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage.

Moscow is served by four major airports — Sheremetyevo, Domodedovo, Vnukovo and Zhukovsky — which handle most of the capital’s domestic and international traffic. Officials did not specify which facilities were affected by the temporary shutdown, though Reuters also reported that four airports in the city were closed without naming them.
The latest Ukrainian barrage comes a day after Kyiv said it struck a Russian plant manufacturing ballistic missiles in the remote Udmurtia region.
Ukraine’s General Staff said its forces attacked a facility in Votkinsk that produces missiles including the short-range Iskander and intercontinental Topol-M, located about 1,400 km east of Ukraine. The military said the strike, carried out using domestically produced Flamingo cruise missiles, triggered a fire at the site.
Udmurtia governor Alexander Brechalov said a site in the region had been attacked overnight, reporting damage and injuries without providing further details. Airports in Izhevsk and nearby regions temporarily suspended operations, Rosaviatsia said.
Residents in Votkinsk reported hearing explosions and drone activity, according to the Russian Telegram channel SHOT.
